OncoRes Medical is developing an imaging device ‘ORM-1’ which utilizes a combination of optical coherence tomography and quantitative micro-elastography (QME). This technology has been shown to distinguish cancer from healthy tissue with very high accuracy. Surgeons will use ORM-1 inside the surgical cavity to detect cancerous tissue that may have been missed and remove it during the first surgery.
