Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and the broader North Texas region are emerging as a leader in life sciences and biotechnology. This is driven by the region’s combination of skilled talent, vibrant healthcare systems, and significant investments in research infrastructure. The ecosystem’s growth is further catalyzed by exceptional leaders like Lyda Hill, with her vision for the development of Pegasus Park, a cornerstone for fostering collaboration and innovation in the life sciences sector, and several other notable contributions.
North Texas’s momentum makes it a priority for Ignite as we pursue our mission to unlock talent and advance healthcare innovation. Lyda Hill’s commitment to fostering growth in this sector continues with her support for Ignite’s expansion into North Texas. Ignite is extremely grateful to this generous support, which has allowed us to take a pivotal step forward to actively integrate our focused programs into this thriving ecosystem.
As part of this expansion, we are thrilled to welcome Neekta Hamidi as our Head of Partnerships and Programs in North Texas. In this role, she will establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to advance Ignite’s mission. Previously, she was at Ginkgo Bioworks, where she developed global partnership strategies for the bioeconomy ecosystem, and also coordinated policy efforts in alignment with the company’s commercial efforts, and shaped the philanthropic Technology & Society portfolio at Schmidt Futures as an early team member.
We look forward to establishing Ignite’s presence in North Texas and leveraging Neekta’s leadership to advance our vision for the region.
